Pino Daniele

Pino Daniele ( born March 19, 1955 in Naples, Italy) is an Italian singer, musician and songwriter.

Life

The son of a dock worker from a humble background to arise, the self-taught Pino Daniele taught himself to play the guitar.

Even his first publication Terra mia was a successful fusion of blues and elements of traditional Neapolitan folk music. This line of fusion of regional folk, blues and other musical styles, such as rock and jazz as well as the musical structures of other ethnicities, he remained throughout his future career always faithful. He trod unconventional ways, but always found a catchy sound. Consequently, his work has been appreciated not only by critics and connoisseurs, but also sold nationally and internationally very successful. Alone his 1995 released album Non calpestare i fiori nel deserto reached a circulation of 800,000 copies.

The often socially conscious, but sometimes in person - melancholy texts, he claims both in Neapolitan dialect as well as in Italian and English.

Throughout his long career, there were numerous joint projects with other well-known Italian and international artists. For example, in 1995 he joined live with Eros Ramazzotti and Pat Metheny on, appeared in 1983 to Richie Havens ' Album Common Ground and Al di Meola's album The Infinite Desire with. Later he worked with, among others, with Chick Corea and the Simple Minds and appeared at the concert Pavarotti & Friends for the children of Liberia.
