Piotr Sztompka

Piotr Sztompka ( born March 2, 1944 in Warsaw) is a Polish sociologist.

He is a professor at the University of Krakow and was a visiting professor at several U.S. universities ( University of California, Los Angeles, Columbia University, University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University), the University of Rome and the Zeppelin University.

Sztompka is a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From 2002 to 2006 he was President of the International Sociological Association.
