Females of Ero aphana

The spider eater ( Mimetidae Simon, 1881) are a family of spiders, which feed exclusively on other spiders. The 152 species in 12 genera of the family have their main range in the tropics. Only the genus Ero is widespread Palaearctic. Four Ero species, most commonly E. furcata, are also found in Central Europe.
