Pirke De-Rabbi Eliezer

Pirke de Rabbi Eliezer (Hebrew: Chapter = sayings of Rabbi Eliezer, referring to Eliezer ben Hyrcanus, who is not, however, the author, also: Baraita de Rabbi Eliezer, Rabbi Eliezer de Mishnah, Haggadah de Rabbi Eliezer, PRE), probably originated by 700 (although it is much older material processed) in Palestine, is a midraschartige Jewish Scriptures.

It deals with the first book to small parts and the 2nd and 4th book of Moses in 7 sections with 54 chapters in detail creation, Adam to Noah, language confusion, Abraham to Jacob, story of Moses to the Golden Calf, describes details from the life of Eliezer, philosophizes about the " descendants of Amalek ", makes remarks on the role of Esther, about Miriam's punishment, philosophizing on the future redemption, as well as various miracles. Some of the explanations are thematically linked to individual benedictions of the Amidah

The writing is obviously incomplete, because the author ( one suspects an individual personality as its author) his work could not finish.

Actually it is not a Midrash despite midraschartiger Trains ( Let occurrence of individual traditions in the name of their - often pseudepigraphic - speakers), but an attempt to retell the Bible ( " rewritten Bible" ), similar to some Arab Bible stories.
