Pivka (river)

The Pivka ( [ pjuka ], German: Poik ) is a remarkable river in Slovenia.

The source of Pivka - Izvir Pivke - is located at the eastern edge of the municipality of Zagorje. The source stream flows past the place Pivka and takes several other streams on. The river disappears in an impressive way in Postojna Postojna Cave, for centuries a local landmark and now a tourist attraction.
