Piz Daint

The Piz Daint is a mountain west of the Munster in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The mountain formed the natural border between the former municipalities Tschierv and Müstair.

To the west lies the remote and northward into the Inn, and thus draining into the Black Sea Val Mora, whose water flows briefly on Italian territory and come back via Spoel in Switzerland. On the east side of the Val Müstair drained southward via Rambach and Adige in the Adriatic Sea.

Name

Originally was called the Piz d' Is not, Romansh for "Inner summit ". This term is to be understood relative to the east neighboring Piz d' Ora, Romansh for " Outer summit ". In the late 20th century it was renamed to Piz Daint.

Routes to the summit

The Piz Daint is accessible via several simpler mountain trails to pretty heavy routes. The mountain is a popular ski and snowboard tour destination.
