Piz Lagalb and valley station

The Upper Engadine mountain Piz Lagalb located in the municipal area of Pontresina in the Val Bernina in the canton of Grisons. Its summit is at 2'959 m above sea level. M. In good weather, distance vision extends to the Dolomites. Piz Lagalb is surrounded by the valleys of Val Minor and Val Bernina.

The mountain is developed since 1963 by a cable car from oberengadinischen Val Bernina ago for winter sports. Situated next to the valley station of the cable car up to 2'107 m the stop Bernina Lagalb is the Bernina Railway on the route from St. Moritz to Tirano. At the top station there is a restaurant with a panoramic terrace. Railway and restaurant are closed outside the ski season.
