PKP class EU07

The locomotives of the series EU07 Polish State Railways ( PKP) are electric locomotives for the carriage of passenger trains and express trains. Part of the series was converted into a series EP07.

Series EU07

Delivered by English Electric in 1961 series EU06 was rebuilt from 1965 by Pafawag in Wrocław under license. There were only made small changes ( slightly larger width). The licensed aircraft received type designation and 4E were delivered as class EU07 to the PKP. Until 1974 240 locomotives were built.

From the series EU07 in 1972, the series was derived EP08 for a top speed of 140 km / h ( instead of 125 km / h in the EU07 ) by changing the transmission. The first build EP08 ( EP08 - EP08 - 002 to 005) were 1976 and 1977, rebuilt in the EU07, 241 to EU07 -244.

In 1977, on the basis of the EU07 double locomotive ET41 (Type 203E ) designed for use in freight transport. Each ET41 consists of two close-coupled locomotives similar to the EU07, but with only one cab. The construction of the ET41 series ended in 1983.

1983, the construction of the EU07 series continued, but at Cegielski Poznań, where the ET41 had been built already. Here, some changes have been made (increased, increased by 0.32 m longer locomotive body with corrugated side walls, prepared for the installation of an automatic clutch to 3.4 t ground). This variant was the type designation 303E, but was also classified as EU07 at the PKP. Until 1992 242 locomotives were built 303E. Three more came from 1990 to 1994 from individual halves of locomotives of the series ET41.

As of 1995, 97 EU07 were rebuilt in EP07 ( see below). The phasing out of the EU07 series has already begun in 2004 were 313 EU07 in the rolling stock. They are located in almost all the PKP railway depots and are virtually in total electrified network with high-speed and passenger trains in operation. EU07 -125 was sold to the private railway company PTKiGK and is there as 4E- 004 in use.

Series EP07

From 1995 to 2003 97 EU07 were better adapted to the needs of the express train, as the engines were prone to failure at higher speeds. To this end, the transmission of a transmission ratio of 79 was: 18 in such a of 76: 21 rebuilt. Two locomotives were also given new engines of the type LKb535. Mostly used for the conversion of locomotives of the second series, only 15 of the EU07 type 4E were rebuilt.

The EU07 were converted according to the scheme of the series PKP due to their adaptation for the passenger the series designation EP07. The order numbers remain unchanged. The EP07 will be just like the EU07 used nationwide.
