PKP class Lyd2

The series L30H the Romanian vehicle and machinery manufacturer FAUR is a three-axle narrow gauge diesel locomotive for gauges 600, 750, 785 and 1000 mm. It was delivered to a number of Polish companies in the PKP this locomotive carries the series designation Lyd2.

History

The locomotives were (now FAUR ) made ​​in Romania from 1977 to 1982 August 23 by the locomotive factory; the type designation reads L30H. Overall, about 40 locomotives of this series were obtained, of which only a portion went directly to the PKP. About ten machines were supplied to sugar factories, eight more locomotives belonged to the State Forestry Administration, where they were classified as LP. Some of these machines were later taken over by the PKP.

Locomotives outside Poland

Two locomotives with 600 mm gauge were purchased in 1994 by the Döllnitz web. They were called the Lok 33 and 34 and umgespurt to 750 mm. Lok 34 was the color scheme of the Westphalian Almetalbahn. The application was made before student trains between Oschatz and Mügeln. Both locomotives are currently parked defective, locomotive 33 was issued in 2009 to the Saxon- Oberlausitzer railway company, which already employs an identical locomotive with the number 199 013 of the Zittau Narrow Gauge Railway.

Three locomotives for 600 mm gauge are owned by the Welsh Highland Railway ( Porthmadog ), two of which are currently operational.

Three 750 -mm locomotives that come from the sugar factory in Dobre, arrived in 2002 on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean, where they are used on a converted into a tourist attraction former sugar cane train. Previously, they were overhauled and umgespurt to 760 mm. Worldwide unique in narrow gauge railways are the double-decker passenger cars with open upper deck.

Technical Features

It is driven by a jackshaft and coupling rods. The built under license by Maybach diesel engine has a displacement of 29.6 liters and a power output of 350 hp ( 257 kW).
