PKP class SP45

The locomotives of the series SP45 of the Polish State Railways ( PKP ), diesel locomotives for the carriage of passenger trains and express trains. Part of the series was converted into a series SU45. The CEL purchased three identical locomotives.

Series SP45

1967 at Cegielski Poznan, the first prototype of a new series of diesel-electric locomotives in the power class below the series was completed ST43 and ST44. He received the type designation and the designation 301D SU45 -001 ( later changed to SP45 -001 ), but was not adopted by the PKP.

Another prototype called 301Da, the number SP45 -002 and a length over buffers of 18.99 meters over 19.24 meters in the prototype 301D was manufactured in 1968 and adopted as the SP45 -500 of the PKP.

1970 began series production of the SP45 series under the type designation 301Db. The numbers SP45 -001 and -002 were awarded again until 1976 a total of 265 locomotives were built.

Due to the built-in steam heating, not at the disposal of primarily intended for freight ST43 and ST44 series, the series was SP45 primarily intended for passenger and express train service.

The phasing out of the SP45 series began in 1975 after accidents. From 1988 191 SP45 were rebuilt in SU45 ( see below). The reconstruction ended in 1998, the remaining SP45 were retired by 1999.

Series SU45

1988 SP45 -074 equipped with an electric heater. As of 1989, the series reconstruction of another 190 SP45 began. The rebuilt locomotives will be referred to as the class distinction SU45.

2004 there were still 166 SU45 in stock, mid-2008 there are approximately 70 operational locomotives and off a whole lot with the deadline. Operations in passenger traffic there is in Zaklad Taboru ( ZT) Czerwiensk ( the early train Żagań for forest and back and between Rzepin and Frankfurt ( Oder) ), ZT Szczecin (use of Szczecinek and Krzyz off), ZT Gdynia ( to Chojnice ) ZT Bydgoszcz ( of Grudziadz after Dzialdowo and services between Malbork and Kwidzyn ), ZT Olsztyn ( between Korsze and Elk and of Malbork from individual services by Kwidzyn or from Elblag after Braniewo ), ZT Bialystok ( on the routes to Suwalki ) and the ZT Poznań ( passenger services most regularly between Leszno and Glogow ).

The Universal locomotives are rarely used in freight transport, the beginning of 2008 could see the SU45 in Poznań and Bydgoszcz ZT regular freight trains to observe ( on the routes Gniezno Stawiany, Toruń - Chełmża, Toruń - Sierpc ).

ST45 series

Since 2009, at least 18 locomotives of the series SU45 were rebuilt in a new series ST45. These received a 12- cylinder MTU 4000 - replacement engine with 1,500 kW and were assigned to PKP Cargo. A train heating is no longer available.

CEL 1201-1203

The Chemins de fer l'Etat Libanais ( Lebanese State Railways ) ordered 1974 HCP three type locomotives 301Dc. This was identical to the type 301Db and thus the series SP45 PKP. The locomotives have been tried under the names 301Dc 225L to 227L and delivered in 1977. After the takeover by CEL they received the numbers from 1201 to 1203.
