Plages du Prado

The Plage du Prado is a beach in the south of Marseille, France. It is located in the 8th arrondissement of the southern French city and is accessed through the Promenade de Georges Pompidou, in the west the beach runs, which is considered the largest sandy beach of the city.

The Plage du Prado is used as a recreation destination and as a venue for numerous sports events, among other things, kite flying and windsurfing.

In July 2008, the Plage du Prado was the venue of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2008, which was held for the first time outside Brazil.
