Plaisir, Yvelines

Plaisir is a commune with 31,074 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the Yvelines department in the Île- de -France region. It belongs to the district of Versailles and is the capital of the canton of the same name.


The city is located 13 km west of Versailles.


Plaisir is the location of the small car manufacturer Acrea and France headquarters of the furniture store Ikea.


The Plaisir Castle got its current appearance at the end of 16./Anfang of the 17th century by the Le Tellier family. It is - as well as his castle park - since 1961 as a monument historique a historical monument since 1976 and is part of the community.
