Plant ecology

The vegetation ecology or plant sociology is a branch plant ecology. It examines the relationships within and between plant communities ( historically ) as well as the dependence of the vegetation from the site, or even of human use. Since the composition of vegetation can be considered as an indicator of the environmental status of an area, it is of central importance for ecological assessments. An important method of vegetation ecology is the grid mapping.
