Plaza of Nations

Plaza of Nations is a leisure and entertainment center in the Canadian city of Vancouver. It is located on the northeastern shore of False Creek next to BC Place Stadium. The center was part of the Canada Pavilion during Expo 86, and together with Science World and Canada Place one of the surviving buildings of this world exhibition.

The building is since 1990 owned by the real estate company Canadian Metropolitan Properties. It includes the Enterprise Hall, West Building, the East Building, the Edgewater Casino and the Covered Plaza. The Plaza of Nations is the venue for numerous cultural events, especially rock and pop concerts (among Foo Fighters, Hootie and the Blowfish, Pixies, The Strokes and No Means No).

The city authorities designated 2006 the glass roof of the courtyard as unsafe. In January 2007, the owner decided not to renovate the roof due to high costs. Instead, it is planned to demolish the entire complex and replace it with a new building.
