Pleiku

Pleiku (also Pleiku Pleiku or ) is the capital of the Gia Lai Province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The city has about 114,000 inhabitants.

Plei Cu was built on volcanic subsoil. The city is surrounded by spruce and pine forests. The volcanic soil is very fertile. For this reason, coffee plants and rubber trees are planted Cu in the area around Plei. Furthermore, there are large vineyards and its own type of wine.

Cu because of the military airfields in Plei the city was in the Vietnam War of strategic importance. It is inhabited mainly by Bahnars and Jarai.

Plei Cu is at the intersection of important routes - the road north to Kon Tum and the trunk road to Stung Treng in Cambodia.
