Plouzané

Plouzané ( Plouzane Breton ) is a commune in the north west of Brittany in the département of Finistère with 11,928 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

Location

The municipality is located on the Atlantic coast at the entrance to the Bay of Brest ( Rade de Brest). Brest is immediately adjacent to the church. The city center is located 10 kilometers (km ) east of Paris and about 500 km to the east (in straight line ).

Infrastructure

In Brest the highways end E 50 (Brest - Rennes) and E 60 (Brest -Nantes ). The train station of Brest is the end of TGV Atlantique to Paris as well as the regional train lines in the direction of Rennes and Nantes. Close to the capital city of Brest is the regional airport Aéroport de Brest Bretagne.

Attractions

Are the remains of the three forts of Dellec, Megant and Minou lighthouse and the Petit Minou at the former strategically important entrance to the bay of Brest.
