Pluto (Disney)

Pluto is a fictional character who was known by a series of animated short films from Disney. Pluto tended to occur than the dog house of Mickey Mouse, although he was also both the dog of Donald Duck and the Goofy, who is also a dog. However, there were in the 1940s and 1950s also animated short films in which he starred as an independent figure. Pluto is an unusual Disney character, because he - will not humanised - apart from his great facial expression repertoire. The only words he ever spoke were " Kiss Me " (originally: "Kiss me" ). Pluto's character and his facial expressions were defined mainly by the Disney artist Norman Ferguson, who was inspired by then famous vaudeville stars. Ferguson animated Pluto until his death in 1957.

Pluto's first appearance was on 18 August 1930 in the Mickey Mouse episode The Chain Gang ( in the original: The Chain Gang ) as Beagle on the trail of the escaped convict Mickey. This figure was later converted into Minnie Mouse's dog Rover. Later, Disney changed the name of Rover on Pluto, and his owner was Mickey Mouse. Pluto was - next to Goofy - Mickey's best friend.

Pluto is one of the first Disney characters whose design took a more rounded appearance, instead of the hitherto flat appearance. He is also one of the first figures in which showed new versions of the cartoon animation. These developments are good to see in a typical scene in the released on March 3, 1934 cartoon Playful Pluto in which sticking a piece of paper to Pluto and he is trying to get rid of it on their own.

In Pluto's own short films, other characters appear: the dog ladies Fifi ( Pekingese ) and Dinah (Dachshund ) and Ronnie, a Saint Bernard puppy. Other characters are his enemies Butch, a Bulldog, Figaro the Kitten, Ahörnchen and authorities starlet and the Bee Buzz.

Pluto was named after the dwarf planet Pluto, which was discovered in 1930, the same year in which Disney created the character.

1942 came out of the animated short film Pluto Junior, in which Pluto has a son, which was simply named Pluto Junior. In 1946, he got into Pluto 's Kid Brother ( Pluto's little brother ), a younger brother named KB

Pluto still appeared in other Disney series. Pluto was the only standard Disney character, the ( Mickey's Christmas tale ) occurred not in the reunion in Mickey's Christmas Carol from 1983.
