Point Pleasant is an American city in Mason County, West Virginia, and at the same time the county seat ( county seat ). History

The city was known as Colonel Andrew Lewis fought back an attack by the Shawnee chief Cornstalk under because of the October 10, 1774. The battle is known as the "Battle of Point Pleasant ."

They also served the Confederate Brigadier General John McCausland as a home until he died on January 23, 1927 on his farm.

Attention and fame Point Pleasant between 1966 and 1967 than in the city itself and the surrounding area were made around 100 sightings of the so-called Mothman. The situation came to a head when, on the evening of December 15, 1967, the Silver Bridge collapsed during rush hour. Many residents of the Mothman was held responsible. There is no evidence. This story provided inspiration for the book and the movie The Mothman Prophecies.
