Pointe du Raz

These measures were completed in 1996-2000 as part of a program funded by the state and some companies to make the place a Grand Site de France.

Eight kilometers to the west is the Ile de Sein, which is separated by an area traversed by mighty currents Strait from the Pointe du Raz (the word raz referred Breton a particularly fierce ocean currents ). Two today uninhabited lighthouses are located on two islands: the Phare de la Vieille and the Phare de tevennec. A tourist center and a car park were built at some distance and are connected to the Pointe by a shuttle bus.

The European long-distance hiking trail E5 combines the Pointe du Raz about 3050 km with Venice. The GR 34, which runs along all the coasts of Brittany from Mont -Saint -Michel up to Lorient, also comes past the punch line.
