Polar Research Institute of China

Polar Research Institute of China, short PRIC, (Chinese中国 极地 研究 中心, Pinyin Zhōngguó Jidi Yanjiu Zhongxin ) is a scientific institute in China, the Polar Research coordinated and supported by appropriate infrastructure such as through research stations in the Arctic and Antarctic as well as by the icebreaker Xue Long ( "Snow Dragon" ). The Institute was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Shanghai, it has 124 employees, boss is Zhanhai Zhang.

The institute is instrumental in the Arctic Yellow River Station in Svalbard (2003) and at the plateau Observatory at Dome A ( 2007).
