Police Academy (TV series)
Police Academy is an animated series from 1988 that builds the film series of the same name.
Content
A group of nine cadets from the police academy, led by Carey Mahoney, make their trainers Captain Harris and his assistant Sgt Proctor life difficult. The sympathies of the dreamy Commander Eric Lassard, head of the Academy, there are more with the cadets. Besides the police solve a wide variety of criminal cases contender.
A completely new character is the professor, who endows the police with technical skill, so that they are armed against villains. A further adaptation are also the bad guys who bear striking names like Numbskull, The Claw and Kingpin. Each episode closes with a safety tip for the watching children.
Production and publication
The series was produced in 1988 by Ruby - Spears Productions and Warner Bros. Television, was directed by Ron Oliver and Allan Harmon. Writer was Bruce Shelly.
The transmitter Columbia Broadcasting System beamed the series from 1 September 1988 from to September 2, 1989 in the United States. The series has been translated into Italian, among others, the German version was first shown from 1 January 1991 by Sat.1. In 1994, she ran at ProSieben. From 1999 to 2004 she was a total of nine times aired, including seven times in Junior.
Figures
The figures in the series are similar to those of the fourth film, which was published in 1987. The series was released in the following two years. Figures of later films such as Nick Lassard not occur.

- Carey Mahoney: the leader of the team and Mrs Sharm.
- Larvell Jones: friend of Mahoney with the gift to imitate any sound
- Carl Sweetchuck: a very small anxious policeman wearing glasses. His partner is Zed.
- Zed McGlunk: small policeman with red hair, which stands out by its uncivilized behavior
- Moses Hightower: the biggest and strongest of the police. In many missions and actions he has a partner, Laverne Hooks.
- Laverne Hooks: it is small, and speaks with a squeaky voice. In most cases it is rather passive, but continues in difficult situations always.
- Thomas Conklin "House": a fat policeman with constant hunger. The only one in the group without a partner.
- Eugene Tackleberry: he wears motorcycle helmet with sunglasses and always carries his weapon. His partner is Debbie Callahan.
- Debbie Callahan: she is tall and has blonde hair that is always worn high. As her partner Tackelberry also it runs mostly around in sunglasses.
- Thaddeus Harris: intra police opponent and relentless careerist
- Eric Lassard: the scattered commander of the police school
- Proctor: true bummer Assistant Harris
None of the actors of the films appeared as a spokesman for the corresponding figures in appearance.
