The Polish Hound ( Ogar Polski ) is one of the FCI (No. 52, Gr. 6, sec 1.2) recognized Polish breed.

Origin and History

The racial history is obscure. It can be assumed that the St. Hubert hound could have played alongside Russian hounds and German Bracken. In the literature, these dogs are first mentioned in the 17th century, but is in distinguishing between 2 to 6 strokes. In 1966, the breed was recognized by the FCI.

Description

55 to 65 cm high and up to 32 kg heavier hunting dog type of pad, black with reddish-brown fire, dense, thick hair of medium length and dense undercoat. The ears are set low; quite long, lobed.
