Polochic River

The Río Polo Chic is a 240 km long river in Guatemala. It rises in the south of the department of Alta Verapaz, a few kilometers east of Tactic. It flows between the Sierra de Chama to the north and the Sierra de las Minas in the south east through the Motagua Fault Polo Chic and empties into the Lake Izabal. The last 30 miles from Panzós are navigable. Earlier in this section was used for the transport of coffee and wood.
