Polonium hydrogen, H2Po, is a liquid at room temperature compound from polonium and hydrogen. Polonium hydrogen is chemically very unstable and like all polonium compounds highly radioactive.

Production and representation

Polonium hydrogen can not win as hydrogen sulfide from the elements. Instead, elemental polonium is reduced with magnesium in the presence of dilute hydrochloric acid for the production. However, it caused only traces of polonium hydrogen.

Properties

Polonium hydrogen as the lighter analogues hydrogen selenide and telluride an endothermic compound and decomposes, releasing heat in the elements. The amount of heat dissipated is the largest of all the chalcogen - hydrogen compounds with > 100 kJ / mol.

Polonium hydrogen can as the other hydrogen chalcogen compounds form two rows salts Polonide and Hydrogenpolonide. Of the Hydrogenpoloniden no examples are known. An example of a Polonid is Bleipolonid which is always found in polonium samples since the α -decay of polonium lead produced.
