Polytropic process
In thermodynamics, is a change of state of a system, the equation for the pressure p and volume V is referred to as polytropic. The exponent is called the polytropic exponent. Special cases of polytropic change of state are:
- N = 0: isobaric
- N = 1: isothermal
- N → ∞: isochoric
- N =: isentropic or adiabatic - reversible
The gas supplied during the state change of the heat is given by:
Here, m is the mass, T1 and T2 initial and final temperature of the process. The Polytropie is characterized by a fixed heat capacity, which results from cp, cv, and n.
