Pomnik, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Pomnik ( German Pomnick ) is a village in Poland in the Warmia - Mazury. It belongs to the powiat Kętrzyński ( circle Rastenburg ), community Korsze ( Korschen ).

Geographical location

Pomnik located in northern Poland, approximately 15 kilometers south of the border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. About a kilometer north of the village are Wilkowo Wielkie (Great Wolf village) and Drogosze ( Dönhoff Städt ), two kilometers south of Parys ( Paaris ).

History

Pomnik was located in 1370 after Kulm law. The corresponding area was six hooves, where there were already two water mills in the localization. From the 16th century the Dönhoff owner of the village were. In 1785 there were in the village of nine houses and a mill. 1817 was a Pomnik Vorwerk with eight houses, where 89 people lived. In January 1945, at the end of the Second World War, the Red Army occupied the area. As a result of the war was Pomnik part of Poland. 1945, the water mill on the river Guber was supported by the Cooperative Samopomoc Chłopska ( rural self-help ) repaired. In 1973, the village and the cooperative part of the Schulz Office Parys. 1970 was 107 people in Pomnik.

Pomnik is located on the Province Road 590 ( droga wojewódzka 590). To the south west, this leads to about seven kilometers through Korsze. In the northeast, the 590 leads north of Barciany after about eight kilometers in the Province Road 591

The nearest railway station is in Korsze where the PKP has direct scheduled to Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ) and poses.

The nearest international airport is Kaliningrad, about 90 kilometers north-west is located on Russian territory. The nearest international airport on Polish territory is located about 180 kilometers west of Lech Walesa Airport, Gdansk.
