Pongsaklek Sitkanongsak (Thai พง ษ์ ศักดิ์ เล็ก ศิษย์ คน อง ศักดิ์, real name Pongsaklek Wonjongkam - พงศกร วัน จง คำ also Pongsaklek Singwangcha; born August 11, 1977 Bua Yai district of Nakhon Ratchasima ) is a Thai boxer and former two-time WBC world flyweight champion.

Professional career

Pongsaklek began in 1994 as a 17 -year-old with the boxes and lost in 1995 and 1996 two construction fights against the Filipinos Jerry Pahayahay, one of them prematurely.

In March 1997 he won against Mzukisi Sikali by TKO in the first round. On 2 March 2001, he won the WBC flyweight title with a first-round TKO against the undefeated Malcolm Tunacao from the Philippines. This result, there were several times with him, although he is considered an average knockout ratio of 50 % as not very strong impact. Pongsaklek is a very good starter, who could multiply surprise opponents early. In 2002 he won against the Japanese Daisuke Naito in just 34 seconds, the fastest ever recorded knockout in the history of championships in the flyweight.

In a non-title fight in 2004 against Ronnie Canete ( Record 18-15-2 ), he was on the ground, suggesting along with his knockout loss to rather moderate taker skills.

His title he could then seventeen defend against mediocre opponents, almost always only in his native Thailand.

In July 2007, he eventually lost in his third encounter with the Japanese Daisuke Naito his title after a unanimous points decision. His next two fights he competed against build up opponents. The rematch against Naito finally took place in Japan on March 8, 2008. This fight ended in a draw.

After he won his next seven fights, he rose on March 27, with the undefeated Japanese title holder of the WBC, Koki Kameda, into the ring. He won that fight on points.
