Pons (crater)

Pons is an impact crater on the Moon's front west of the Mare Nectaris, southeast of the crater Fermat and southwest of Polybius, west of the Rupes Altai. The crater is heavily eroded and in its eastern part of the crater wall is almost completely leveled and overlaid.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the French astronomer Jean -Louis Pons.
