Pontacq

Pontacq is a French municipality with 2825 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Atlantiques in the Aquitaine region. It belongs to the district Pau, the community association Ousse- Gaba and is capital of the canton Pontacq.

Geography

The community Pontacq lies on the border with Region Midi -Pyrenees, at the foot of the Pyrenees, about twelve kilometers north-west of Lourdes. By Pontacq the Ousse, a 42 km long tributary of the Gave de Pau flows.
