Ponte Caffaro
Ponte Caffaro ( [ pontɛ kaf aro ː ], " bridge over the river Caffaro ") is a town on the northern tip of Lake Idro at an altitude of 379 m slm It is a fraction of the community Bagolino, in the province of Brescia.
The river Caffaro forms on its bridge the boundary between the regions of Lombardy and Trentino -Alto Adige and was until 1919 the border between Austria and Italy. Here lead both rivers Chiese and Caffaro in Lake Idro, they - along with some other small tributaries - dine.
Ponte Caffaro and surroundings are a popular tourist destination. In addition to the landscape around the lake, the village can look back on a centuries-old history. The Habsburg Rudolf II had a summer residence no longer obtained in the vicinity of the place.
