Ponty Bone

Ponty Bone ( born 1939 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American accordionist who was known as a session musician and with his own band The Squeezetones internationally. The Squeezetones mixed in their music elements of blues, Cajun, Zydeco and Tejano.

Bone, who is originally from San Antonio, playing accordion since the age of 5 years. Later he learned the trumpet and played in marching band in high school. About stations in Houston and Louisiana came Bone to Lubbock, where he attended Texas Tech University and joined the local music scene.

1976 Bone was hired by Joe Ely, with whose band he recorded five albums until 1982 and several tours, including in Europe, graduated. After his departure from Ely Bone formed his own band, The Squeezetones, which has since been released on small record labels several albums and became internationally known. As a guest musician Bone contributed to more works by Robert Earl Keen, Butch Hancock, Jerry Jeff Walker, Omar & The Howlers, Terri Hendrix and many others.
