Poplar River (Lake Superior)

The Poplar River is a tributary of Lake Superior in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

The Poplar River originates northeast of Lake Superior in Lake spot. This is fed by the north bordering Lake Crescent Lake. The Poplar River flows predominantly south through the Canadian Shield in the southwestern part of the Cook County and flows 2.5 km west of Lutsen in Lake Superior. The Poplar River has a length of 34.9 km. Its catchment area covers 295.3 km ².

The river name ( English for poplar poplar) is derived from the translation of the Ojibwe name of the river.
