Lutsen is a settlement on community- free area in Cook County in the northeast of the U.S. State of Minnesota. For statistical purposes, the place has been combined to form a census-designated place (CDP). In 2010, Lutsen had 190 inhabitants.

Geography

Lutsen is located on the north shore of Lake Superior, the westernmost and highest of the Great Lakes. The place is close to the border with Canada and the lake across from Wisconsin and Michigan. Lutsen is located at 47 ° 38'50 " north latitude and 90 ° 40'29 " west longitude and extending over 27.69 km ². The town is the center of Lutsen Township.

Towns nearby Lutsen are Grand Marais (28,6 km northeast along the lakeshore ) and Hovland ( 59.9 kilometers north-east along the lakeshore ).
