Geography

Croft Ville is located on the north shore of Lake Superior, the westernmost and highest of the Great Lakes. The town is located at 47 ° 45'54 " north latitude and 90 ° 16'32 " west longitude. Croft Ville is located within Western Cook, an unorganized territory ( " Unorganized Territory " ) in western Cook counties.

History

Croft Ville originated at the beginning of the 20th century north-east of Grand Marais. The settlement dates back to the fisherman Peter Olsen and the eponymous brothers Charles and Joe Croft, who came to the area in 1894.
