Porcius Festus

Porcius Festus († 62 AD ) was a Roman knight, who was in command of Judea in 60-62 AD.

It is unclear whether Festus as Prefect of the governor of Syria was under, or whether it can be regarded as an independent province of Judea Praesidialprocurator. The peace efforts during his tenure achieved no lasting success. For the summer of 62 at Festus ' successor Lucceius Albinus took the anti-Roman forces in Judea again reinforced.
