The Pont du Port -à- l'Anglais is a cable-stayed bridge over the Seine in the French department of Val -de- Marne, who transferred the route Departmental D 148.

History

The construction of the Pont du Port -à- l'Anglais was started in 1913. The First World War, the completion was delayed, so the bridge was opened to traffic in 1928. After damage in the Second World War, the bridge was repaired in 1946. In 1996 the building was declared a Monument Historique.

Construction and location

The Pont du Port -à- l'Anglais is designed as a cable-stayed bridge to the system of Albert Gisclard.

The bridge has a total length of 240 meters and is located directly on the river downstream weir and lock system Port -à- l'Anglais (French: Barrage Ecluse de Port- à - l'Anglais ). The main opening of the bridge spans 130 meters, while the two side openings are almost 60 meters wide. The bridge piers stand on the dams, which separate the arranged on both banks lock channels from the main stream, respectively. The pylons are modeled in form triumphal arches.
