Porus (mythology)

Poros (Greek Πόρος "way out", lat Porus ) is in the Greek mythology the personification of resourcefulness, the ability to find a way out of any situation, and therefore also the embodiment of wealth.

In Plato's Symposium Poros is the personification of wealth. He had been seduced by Penia, the personification of poverty, as he had been drinking at Aphrodite's birthday too much nectar and thus became the father of Eros. Poros was the son of Metis.
