Positive Black Soul

Positive Black Soul is a hip- hop band from Dakar, Senegal. The representatives of the Seneraps were the first band of African hip- hop scene, which celebrated international successes.

Career

The group has existed since 1989. Both members Doug - E Tea and Didier Awadi ( Didier ' dj' Awadi ) were leaders of two rival youth gangs in Dakar. The group distinguished itself by the Muslim faith, while the other group of Christians belonged. After they had delivered long-lasting musical clashes, they realized that they had more in common than divides, and established a joint crew. They themselves say that they have been musically influenced by both the musical culture of Africa as well as IAM, A Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, Boogie Down Productions and MC Solaar. To her special form of music, they also say: " Rap is a child of slaves in Africa, was born, in America it has become great."
