Potocki Palace, Lviv

The Potocki Palace (Ukrainian палац Потоцьких, Polish pałac Potockich we Lwowie ) in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv is a three-storey palace in the Ulica Copernicus No. 15

It was built in the 1880s for the noble Potocki family as a residence in the city. It was not skimp on spending in order to make it the biggest aristocratic residence in the city.

The French architect Louis Dauvergne worked all sorts of stylistic Beaux Arts details from particulier for almost spanned imitation of a French hôtel. An open parkland was designed to give the mansion a sense of depth.

At the turn of the century, the park gave way to a number of homes. The palace itself was adapted in 1972 for the holding of wedding ceremonies and restored step by step.

In the 2000s the President of Ukraine made the palace at one of his residences. Some of his architectural details were also used in the adjacent exhibition hall, which was opened in 1996.

Other Potocki palaces in Ukraine are in Tulchyn ( Тульчин ) and Odessa. In Poland, there are those in Krzeszowice, Międzyrzec Podlaski, Natolin and Warsaw.
