Potshausen is a municipality in the district of Leer in Ostfriesland Ostrhauderfehn.
History
The place was first called Potshausen on December 8, 1409 as Pophteshusen in an arbitral award of the Council end of messengers of the cities of Hamburg and Lüneburg in the disputes between Keno tom Brok one hand and Hisko of Emden, Enno from the north and Haro Idzerdes other.

Attractions
The Evangelical Lutheran St. Martin Church is a brick hall church with a semicircular eastern apse, arched windows and a dainty west tower. It dates from 1865, the inauguration took place on 18 March 1866. This makes it the oldest church in Ostrhauderfehn and has some attractions such as originating from a previous church altarpiece from 1647 and a medieval crucifix from the pre-Reformation period.

In Potshausen is the education center Ostfriesland - Potshausen. The Protestant institution offers seminars on vocational training, education holiday in Lower Saxony and other educational programs, such as the training of volunteers or the degree to which second-chance education.
