Poulaines

Poulaines is a commune with 888 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Indre in the Centre region; it belongs to the administrative district of Issoudun and the canton of Saint -Christophe -en- Bazelle.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 35 kilometers west of Bourges and 25 kilometers south of Romorantin- Lanthenay. Neighboring communities of Poulaines are:

  • Parpeçay and Sainte -Cécile in the north,
  • Saint -Christophe -en- Bazelle in the Northeast,
  • Bagneux in the east,
  • Buxeuil in the southeast
  • Rouvres -les -Bois in the south
  • Vicq -sur -Nahon in the southwest,
  • Valençay in the west and
  • Varennes -sur- Fouzon in the northwest.

The territory is mostly drained by the river and its tributary Renon Bordelat. On the northwestern edge of the municipality of Nahon River runs. All watercourses strive in a northeasterly and northerly direction to the Fouzon in which they all open out.

The municipality is determined by the department of roads D960 (of Vallençay to Issoudun ) and D16 (from Poulaines after Graçay ) developed. Higher-tier transport links, such as the motorways A20, A71 and A85 can be reached at Vierzon.
