Powerpoint-Karaoke

In PowerPoint Karaoke is an offshoot of the classic karaoke, where the participants sing no song texts, but a lecture to them not previously known from the cuff to keep randomly selected slides. These can be either specially created, or you can use films, which were found on the internet. It is a rhetorical, präsentatorisches training game with entertainment value. In part, it is now also used as improv or theater sports game.

Origin

On April 13, 2005, generated by the software SciGen nonsense article three MIT students named Jeremy Stribling, Max Krohn and Dan Aguayo was admitted to the unaudited 9th World Multi- Conference on Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics. After the article but was on the website Slashdot ultimately rejected on the basis of reports that three students rented a private conference room, to give lectures to computer-generated nonsense film sets.

Process of invention and naming

The PowerPoint Karaoke format was developed by the Central Intelligence Agency, the world premiere took place in Berlin in January 2006. The name of PowerPoint Karaoke alludes to the same presentation software PowerPoint from Microsoft.

Aim of the game

The PowerPoint Karaoke provides a way to improve rhetorical skills in a fun way. In addition, PowerPoint Karaoke can be considered a spoof on pointless presentations.
