Prasat Sikhoraphum
Prasat Sikhoraphum ( Thai: ปราสาท ศรี ข ร ภูมิ, also: Prasat Ra Ngaeng Thai: ปราสาท ระ แง ง ) are the ruins of a Khmer temple in the district Sikhoraphum the Surin province. The Surin province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Architectural History
Due to the style of the sandstone bas-reliefs of the sanctuary, it can be dated to the Angkor Wat period of the early 12th century. However, probably were some parts of the brick towers at a later date - probably in the 15th or 16th century - renewed from Lao.
Attractions
The sanctuary consists of a quincuncial of four prang made of bricks, which are grouped around a central, larger Prang. The ensemble is surrounded by a moat. This design is unique to Khmer temples in Thailand and has a cosmological significance that can be otherwise found only in major State - temples such as Pre Rup, Ta Keo or Angkor Wat.
The five towers stand on a low, square base made of laterite and is oriented to the east. Although brick was replaced as the material for important buildings in Cambodia since the eleventh century by sandstone, that in today's Thailand quite a few temples that were built up in the second half of the twelfth century brick.
The special properties is today the clad sandstone entrance to the central prang. His pilasters and columns and the lintel are still very well preserved. On the four smaller towers almost no decoration elements are present. Only the bow over a pseudo - door of the south-west tower is guarded by a many-headed naga. The heads emerge from dental Rate mouths of Makara. Below the Naga remains of stucco ornaments can be made out.
