Predrag Ostojić

Predrag Ostojic (Serbian: Предраг Остојић; born February 22, 1938 in Kraljevo, † July 5, 1996 in Mainz ) was a Yugoslav grandmaster in chess.

He participated with the Yugoslav national team to the World Student Championships in 1963 and 1964. 1963 in Budva reached his team to second place while he was a gold medal for his score of 5 out of 5 received at second reserve board. Ostojic 1968 International Master. 1968 and 1971 he won the championship of Yugoslavia. Other achievements include victories in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1971, São Paulo, 1973 Vrnjacka Banja 1975, Sandefjord in 1976.

The World Chess Federation FIDE awarded him in 1975 the title of Grand Master. In 1980 he was also appointed to the International referee.

Ostojic lived a long time in Germany and played with Oberursel in Hessen League and with FTG Frankfurt in the 2nd Chess League. In 1996, his Elo rating 2320. Historical Its highest Elo rating was 2587 in December 1976.

Ostojic died from suicide.
