Preethi Nair

Preethi Nair (born 1971 in the Indian state of Kerala ) is a British author of Indian origin.

She was born in 1971 in the southern Indian state of Kerala and moved as a child with her family to the UK. You wurchs up in London and worked according to their schooling and education first as a management consultant before she gave up this activity to be a writer. Her first book, Gypsy Masala was rejected by several publishers. Therefore, she founded her own publishing house and a PR company called Nine Fish and brought her book out for yourself. Under the pseudonym Pru Menon was gradually known and succeeded in concluding a treaty with the U.S. publisher Harper Collins.

For her work she received the Asian Women Achievement Award and was shortlisted for Journalist of the Year at the PPC Awards. The BBC bought the rights for a film adaptation of her novel coriander leaves and Safranrot. Her latest book is called The scent of colors and is a fictional representation of their lives.

Preethi works for a number of newspapers, for BBC Radio 4 and is an ambassador for the Prince's Trust, a charity the Prince of Wales.
