Preis der Literaturhäuser

The price of the Houses of Literature has been awarded annually since 2002 by the network of houses of literature during the Leipzig Book Fair for outstanding text and presentation skills to a German author. The award consists of a reading tour through all eleven meeting within the network literature houses with a total fee of 11,000 euros and a reception with eulogy in every visited house of literature.

Background

The houses of literature is the concept of content together to provide the teaching of literature in its various forms of expression and facets of a forum. The focus is on mediation in the foreground, implementation, or " feedback" of literature in the spoken word, in the reading, discussion, literary discourse. To underline this aesthetic concept and exemplify that together make up the literaturhaus.net Literaturhäuser give once a year a literary prize. This award is intended for authors who work on special way for the placement of literature. Special emphasis is placed on a contemporary presentation of relevant literature, is treading new ground and just so that the tradition of literary lecture continues and updated. In this case, the price should not be alone award, but continue and support the project content. Therefore, the Literature Prize, awarded from a reading tour of the respective prize winner.

Jury

The jury consists of program managers ( House of Literature conductors ) of the combined network literature houses. The network consists of eight German literature centers in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Leipzig, Rostock and Stuttgart, the Austrian literature centers Graz and Salzburg, and the literature in Zurich.
