Michael Lentz

Michael Lentz ( born May 15, 1964 in Düren ) is a German writer, sound poet, literary scholar and musician.

Life

Michael Lentz, son of Düren Town Clerk Hubert Lentz, visited the school Stiftische Düren. After high school he studied German, history and philosophy in Aachen, Munich and Siegen and was a critical and documentary inventory doctorate with the two-volume dissertation sound poetry / music after 1945. 1999. His literary debut, the poetry and prose For information appeared on 29 September 1985 at a public reading at the Leopold -Hoesch Museum in Düren. In 1998 he won the German Poetry Slam Championship. Lentz attended the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in 1998 and 2001; In 2001 he received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for his text mother dying. Since 2004 he is president of the Free Academy of the Arts Leipzig; In 2005 he received the Prize of Literature homes. In May 2006 he was appointed professor at the Department of Creative Writing by the German Literature Institute Leipzig ( University of Leipzig), which he still holds today. Lentz was co-editor of the literary magazine Neue Rundschau. The general public he is best known for his novel Pacific exile, who was on the longlist for the German Book Prize 2007.

Michael Lentz lives in Berlin and Leipzig.
