Premier Reserve League

The Premier Reserve League ( officially: Barclays Premier Reserve League) was in England from 1999 to 2012, the top division for reserve teams of professional clubs in the English top division Premier League. It was divided into a northern and a Südliga that were officially designated as "Barclays Premiership Reserve League North " or "Barclays Premiership Reserve League South " after the sponsor names.

The League was formed in 1999 and dissolved in the north, the " Central League " and to the south the "Football Combination" from that previously served each as a top division for reserve teams and still exist today for niederklassige clubs.

The descent from the Premier Reserve League was not in accordance with the sporting performance of the reserve team, but after the first teams of clubs. If a team is relegated from the Premier League, the corresponding reserve team dismounted from the Premier Reserve League and was replaced by the second team of the riser from the Championship.
