Preobrazhenskoye District

Preobraschenskoje (Russian Преображенское ) is a historical place in Russia, which now belongs to the capital Moscow.

East of the town since the 17th century there was a village called Preobraschenskoje Selo, which was at the same time Tsar seat. In the Preobrazhensky regiment named after this village, among other things also served Peter the Great. Here the Great and the Polish King August II of the Treaty of Preobraschenskoje was closed between Peter, what an alliance against Sweden, meanwhile, King Charles XII. was in the Northern War. The old palace was torn down in 1768 Catherine II, since he had come dilapidated and out of fashion.

Today it is a district of the metropolis in the eastern county. There is also the same Preobraschenskoje Cemetery.
