Presses Universitaires de France

The Presses Universitaires de France (abbreviated with the Sigle PUF) are the largest French university publishing. They were founded in 1921 in Paris.

The publisher merged in the 1930s with the three publishing houses by Félix Alcan ( specializing in philosophy), Leroux ( specializing in history ) and Rieder ( literature in general). By 1968, the publisher of Paul Angoulvent was conducted. In 2000 the publisher befell drastic changes, which the traditional publishing house was closed in Paris university district in the course.
